The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) is an independent charitable trust established to inspire local giving for local need. The Community Foundation works both with donors who want to give something back to their local communities and voluntary groups providing vital services for local people. Companies, individuals, families and trusts can establish a fund with the Foundation, which supports a growing programme of grant-making to communities. HIWCF is part of a national network of 46 Community Foundations, one of the fastest growing philanthropic movements in the UK.
Chat over Chai has been fortunate enough to have been awarded a grant from the HIWCF which will help us with our goals over the next 12 months.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust support us and help us to educate our attendees concerning a variety of health issues. Chat over Chai are proud that our attendees often contribute to surveys and service development.

Local councillors sometimes attend our events and social gatherings. Chat over Chai is proud to have been successful as one of the recipients of this years Community Inclusion Grants.

Chat over Chai is very grateful for the encouragement and assistance we receive from the community team at BHLive. With their support we run regular Badminton
and Pilates sessions . For details please see our regular activities page. We recently put on a trip to Portchester Castle and the BHLive team helped us with fun games and easy sports to enjoy before our picnic.

Chat over Chai enjoy working with the team based at the Historic Dockyard, getting involved in projects like the Tidal Teatime exchange. You can read the full story by clicking the link below.

Recently Chat over Chai took part in Queen Charlotte’s Tea Party a collaboration with Downtown Pompey and the National Museum of the Royal Navy. Our members made a costume inspired by the figure head of the ship HMS Asia. Then with all the other participants we displayed our finished costume in a catwalk around the historic figure head display space. We had so much fun.

Our attendees have also celebrated South Asian Heritage month and Diwali with the team at the Historic Dockyard.

We love working with our friends at Downtown Pompey. A couple of times in the last 12 months Chat over Chai have assisted Downtown Pompey host their Supper and Spice events. These are fun events providing an opportunity for people from all backgrounds and communities to come together and enjoy some great food in great company.
